Healthy fast food chain Leon is set to open its first branch in Wales in early 2022.
Known for its menu of wraps, hot stews, grilled chicken burgers, salads and baked fries, the chain plans to open 50 new locations across the UK in 2022, creating 1,000 jobs.

As part of its new locations, Leon will expand into Wales for the very first time with an opening slated for early 2022. However, the company has yet to reveal where the Welsh location (s) will be located.
Leon currently has more than 70 locations in England as well as branches in Ireland, the Netherlands and Switzerland.
New outlets planned in the UK will include a mix of traditional restaurants, DriveThrus, smaller restaurants on Asda gas stations and premises, and LEON To Go cafes.
Earlier this year, the channel has been purchased by billionaire brothers Mohsin Issa and Zuber Issa, owners of supermarket giant Asda. At the time, the deal was valued at £ 100million according to the Financial Times.
Speaking of the expansion plans, Glenn Edwards, Managing Director of Leon Restaurants, said, “We are very pleased to announce a significant acceleration in Leon’s expansion. For the first time, we will take Leon across the country, driving rapid regional growth. The new formats of this deployment will build on our traditional restaurants and form a basis for future growth. “
Leon is not the only chain that could arrive in Wales in 2022. The American burger chain Wendy’s plans to open 50 branches across the UK next year and engages in discussions with franchise partners to increase their presence across the country, including Wales.
