The Blazing Bird – an Arvada-born Nashville hot-style chicken restaurant – plans to expand to Fort Collins, taking over the former home of Serious Texas BBQ next to the city’s North College Avenue King Soopers.

This will mark the restaurant’s second location, according to Artem Muradyan, founder and owner of The Blazing Bird.

“We just want to bring some heat to Fort Collins,” Coloradoan’s Muradyan said on Tuesday.

The Blazing Bird opened in Arvada in February, offering a quick and casual menu of hot chicken served in sandwiches, tacos, burritos, macaroni and cheese and more. The restaurant’s chicken has six levels of spice, ranging from its original without heat to its fiery, which requires a signed waiver before it can be eaten, Muradyan said.
