A new flame-grilled burger and chicken restaurant is heading to Nottingham, taking over a unit that previously sold fireplaces.

Chilli Flames, which has branches across the country in cities including Derby, Leicester and Cardiff, is set to open a further 12 locations across the UK as part of a rapid expansion plan across the UK .

The location will be the Gasworks, in Lower Parliament Street. The unit, which takes its name from former occupier British Gas, was most recently the Fireplace Studio until it closed and moved to Bramcote.

Describing its food as “fresh, quick and grilled”, the menu features burgers, wraps, pitta, wings, strips and loaded fries.

The platters include the “family mix” with one whole chicken, five chicken strips, four wings and four sides.

They say, “Chilli Flames is all about flavor. We’ve worked hard to create a secret range of marinades and sauces that cover all of our chicken.

“Our chicken is always fresh and never frozen. That’s why we believe we serve the tastiest, freshest grilled chicken to our customers.”

In the “healthy” section, four salads are sold, with chicken, spicy chicken, falafel and feta on a bed of lettuce, peppers, olives, croutons and sweet corn.

The chicken is coated in a secret marinade for 24 hours and flame-grilled.

Branding has increased on the site, near the Pryzm nightclub. An opening date has yet to be announced.
