WALNUT CREEK, CA – Starbird Chicken, a crispy chicken-obsessed fast food chain launched five years ago in the San Francisco Bay Area, is launching its new location in Walnut Creek next week – marking the grand opening of the May 24 with a $ 5 deal for new customers.

The founders of Starbird set out in 2016 to create crispy chicken perfection (“keep all the good parts and fix the bad”) combining antibiotic-free, locally raised chicken, hand-breaded in a proprietary blend of flour and spices without gluten, and served with homemade sauces.

Starbird menu options include sandwich specialties such as Nashville HotBird (Nashville Hot Chicken, coleslaw, dill pickles, Greek Yogurt Ranch, mayo), Korean Fried Chicken (crispy chicken, gochujang frosting, miso coleslaw with honey, cucumber, green onion, sesame seeds) and Hot Honey Chicken (chicken, Mike’s Hot Honey®, chipotle coleslaw, spicy sauce, pepper relish, mayo).
Taco selections include: California Roll Taco (crispy chicken, coleslaw, avocado, sesame seeds, wasabi aioli); and the Señor Baja Taco (chicken, coleslaw, chili, green onions, taco sauce).
Also on the menu are hand-chopped salads, fillets, wings and the plant-based concept, Gardenbird.

Starbird Chicken escalated during the pandemic, launching a ‘Match a Meal’ program in all locations, allowing residents to donate lunches and dinners to Bay Area hospitals – an effort that resulted in more. 3,000 lunches and dinners served to regional health care and frontline workers.
The new Starbird Chicken in Walnut Creek will offer on-site dining, take-out and contactless delivery through its website, mobile app and third-party delivery. The other East Bay location is Cloud Kitchen in Oakland at 2353 E. 12th St., offering take out and delivery.
