With closings imposed in most places and the pandemic generally making it more dangerous for people to eat out, ordering has become the way to treat foodies over the past year or so. But ordering food comes with its own trials and tribulations. It is not uncommon for your order to be mixed up and the wrong set of food items sent to you. But when this woman in the Philippines ordered fried chicken, the fast food chain sent her something quite different. What was it, you ask? A fried napkin. Don’t believe us? In a Facebook post on June 1, 2021, Alique Perez described her experience ordering fried chicken for her son at the famous “Jollibee” fast food chain. When her son tried unsuccessfully to remove a piece from a piece, she separated the piece with her hands and discovered to her shock that what was supposed to be fried chicken was in fact a fried napkin.

Apparently, this was not the first time that Jollibee Food Corp received complaints that there were strange things in people’s food. “I really thought the post complaining about weird things in their orders was just made up, now I know it really happens,” Perez said in his viral Facebook post. Within six days, his Facebook post received over 1 lakh of feedback and was shared over 87,000 times.
