Bethlehem has a new must-visit chicken spot.

Literally, a spot of chicken. Kartel’s Chicken Spotlocated at 432 W. Broad St., held its soft opening last weekend, and its grand opening is scheduled for April 1. The restaurant is moving to West Bethlehem to the former home of Santoro’s Franks & Chili, which closed in 2021.

It’s only been a week, but The Kartel’s early success is promising. On the second day of the soft opening, word had spread enough that the restaurant had sold out of everything.

You can go and try it for yourself, but even just looking at the restaurant PageInstagram makes the sale understandable. The food – which includes everything from jerk chicken and fried chicken to seven wing sauces and seasonings, plus every side you can imagine – is deliciously good.

Co-owner Joseph Delgado said he keeps the restaurant’s vibe “family-oriented.” Most of the recipes are hers, but the restaurant’s fried chicken recipe was passed down to her from her grandmother.

The Kartel Chicken Spot opens at 11 a.m. weekdays, closes at 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 10 p.m. Friday through Sunday.
